Belgian-based Emocean Yacht Design unveils a rendering of a monstrous 200-meter gigayacht, which will be tagged as the world’s largest yacht once completed. Completely tailored to the desires and tastes of the client, Emocean’s 200-meter gigayacht features a drive-in garage, two 30-meter day boats, a 30-meter swimming pool, games room, health spa and all the luxuries that billionaires love. It also has a helipad and hanger, 10 VIP rooms, 22 guest suites and a private owner’s deck accommodating a total of 45 passengers, along with 70 crew. Besides her length, the gigayacht is remarkably fast at a maximum speed of 28 knots, a cruising speed of 20 knots and a range of 6,500 nautical miles at cruising speed.

Taipei 101 unveiled an exclusive VIP club this week.  All you have to do to qualify for a year’s membership is spend NT$1.01 million ($44,241) in a single day. Located on the world’s second tallest building’s sixth floor, the club offers a VIP-only parking lot along with a key, which activates a private elevator to transport you directly into the club.  Citing privacy as its most important asset, the VIP club offers to deliver all the luxuries to a private showroom along with complementary Chanel spa products to be tried in private dressing rooms.  Limited to just 1,000 members, the club has just 200 spaces left.

In acknowledgement of the People’s Republic of China’s 60^th birthday, Leica has developed a 24 carat gold camera.  Such an event deserves a celebration, and Leica for the occasion has introduced this Limited Edition MP Golden Camera.  Only 60 of the shiny snappers will be made, each bearing a mark between 1949 and 2009.  The rare camera comes in a red calfskin box and has one of Mao Zedong’s favourite slogans wrapped round it, what’s said to be “Long Live The People’s Republic of China”. There’s even a picture of Tiananmen Square.  Each set is priced at $29,284 will be contained in a luxury wooden box and will be available in China alone.

Sotheby’s made a new record when they sold a Silver Punch Bowl crafted by Cornelius Kierstede, in New York between 1700 and 1710. It was estimated to fetch anywhere between $400 and 800,000.  But the bid opened at a whopping $275,000 and started at a staggering $500,000! The bid ended with a generous mystery collector who spent stunning $5,906,500! The silver punch bowl, a part of Sotheby’s sale of Important Americana, has descended from the family of Commodore Joshua Loring, in Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts, the Loring-Greenough House, which is now being preserved as an historic site.
