Regen, a light from a consumer electronics start-up based in San Francisco, coming out with a gigantic iPod dockt call ReVerb looks set to tower above the rest – literally.  At just over 35 inches (90cm) in height, this dock is not going to fit on your bedside cabinet. It will kick out an equivalent of a room-filling 60 watts, includes a backlit LCD display and features an integrated photovoltaic panel to draw energy from the sun.  The beautiful black exterior features a control panel on the top including mode selection in solar or electric. The system output is equivalent to a 60-watt conventional speaker system. Reverb will set you back $2,299.

The newly unveiled Star of Africa collection features sapphire crystal dome rings filled with floating diamonds, which appear like snowflakes in a snow globe.  The inventive design was created by fifth-generation diamond merchants Edward and Joop Asscher, whose family forged the now-famous Asscher-cut diamond in 1902.  A percentage of sales of these rings is being donated to the family’s newly formed Star of Africa charity, which will help build the infrastructure in Sierra Leone through education and self-sufficiency programs. The family pinpointed needs in Sierra Leone because it is a primary source of diamonds, and it’s the source of one of the world’s most famous diamonds, the 3,105-carat Star of Africa, which was cut by the Asscher family in 1908.  The limited-edition Star of Africa rings, available in white, yellow, and rose gold, in two sizes for $4,950 or $7,900, were unveiled at Neiman Marcus,  Beverly Hills last month.

Motorola has announced an expensive Aura phone, called Motorola Aura Diamond Edition.

The new Aura is plated with 18 carat gold and has 34 diamonds, 30 of which are embedded above and bellow the phone’s circular display. Specs-wise, the Aura offers quad-band GSM/EDGE connectivity, CrystalTalk technology, stereo Bluetooth, Music and video players, email, web browser, 2MP camera and 2GB of internal memory. Motorola Aura Diamond Edition should be available starting October 26. As for the price, well, the phone costs no less than £3,500 (about €3,815 or $5,730).

Stefane Canturi, an Australian designer created jewelry for Nicole Kidman in both the Moulin Rouge and Australia films, introduce his latest collections embrace cubism using square-cut and baguette diamonds to create pieces that seem both classic Art Deco and very modern.  The architectural quality of the pieces seems a natural fit for New York City which is where Canturi has opened his fifth salon worldwide.  He previously opened his first U.S. shop in Las Vegas and also has three stores in Australia.

Christian Dior has just announced their second generation mobile phone line that will be here just in time for the holiday season. The new luxury phone line will be launched December 2009 and will feature gold plated and black PVD-coated handsets with sapphire crystals.  There are also two models that are encrusted with diamonds- the Zelie with a red casing and the Zenaide in white.  The luxury cost will be around $7,900.00 and $13,400.
